About The Book

The Book of Aten is a new work on modern magic by Frater Aten 252 currently in the final stages of completion. It is a development of A.O. Spare's ideas and techniques on results-oriented sorcery married to Enochian magic. The eight rayed Aten is a manifestation of the Chaos Star and the eightfold name of Baphomet (Octinomos).

The book is compromised of eleven chapters. The first chapter contains an Enochian vision for ‘Aethyr 0: Aten’ and a spell for casting an Enochian magic circle. The next ten chapters each contain one word square, three Enochian visions with suggested interpretations and insights; and one spell with accompanying notes. Each of these ten chapters correspond to the ten Sephiroth of the Tree of Life. Frater Aten 252 also explores Carl Jung's concept of the collective unconscious and what it means to a gnostic as well as a pragmatic occultist.

The spells or rituals were chosen by Frater Aten 252 as those which he believes he achieved a successful result from, including: strengthing your magickal power; an Enochian four elements ritual; petitioning Hekate with Ephesian letters; an Enochian formula for summoning the Holy Guardian Angel; evocation of Goetic demons to visible presence using death posture in both a solitary or group setting; gaining insights and visions from the 30 Enochian Aethyrs; as well as spells for attracting wealth and love, for healing and exacting vengeance.

About Frater Aten 252

Frater Aten 252, a.k.a. Frater Ananael 252, joined his first magical group in 1986/87. He was also a member of the Ordo Typhonis, where he was known as Frater Ixomaxip. He is currently a third degree member of the Illuminates of Thanateros. Frater Aten 252 has published two blogs on the I.O.T. British Isles web site, regarding experiments in spirit evocation and Enochian Aethyrs in a temple gathering, as well as one blog on Julian Vayne, Steve Dee and Nikki Wyrd's site The Blog of Baphomet, examining different ways of evoking Astaroth in the context of Chaos Craft. He is a part-time professional tarot reader and spiritual counsellor. He is currently exploring publishing options for this project.
